They bought it just before the pandemic and then slowly fixed it up through lockdowns and restrictions - with two little kids in tow to boot! . Originally built for workers of Millars Timber and Trading Company, the house is in the tiny south west town of Quinninup. I will admit I had never even heard of Quinninup until Jade bought a property there ๐Ÿ™ˆ Now? Mr Nerd and I want our own little cottage there ๐Ÿ˜† Until then, we'll content ourselves with visiting Jade's. . Tucked beside spectacular karri forest a short stroll to beautiful Karri Lake, this home is quiet, grounding and feels magic. It's one of my favourite cottages - I love the vintage, gathered interiors, it's so comfortable, beautiful and thoughtfully done. This place feels so calming. You arrive here and feel you can let out a breath you didn't even know you were holding.     Do you ever feel like life is so busy you never ma Do you ever feel like life is so busy you never make time to do something just for you? I feel like that a lot, especially since having kids. But when I DO make the time to learn something new or do something creative, it really lights me up and I think, 'Why don't I do this more often?!' โœจ That's how I felt when @fremantleartscentre asked if I would try out a couple of their classes to help them spread the word. FAC have an awesome learning program of one-day, weekend and term courses - painting, ceramics, crafting, creative writing, basketry and jewellery. I have ALWAYS wanted to try my hand at a pottery wheel so I booked in for 'A Day on the Wheel'. Turns out I am not a natural potter (how unsurprising ๐Ÿ˜†) but I had SO MUCH fun. Greg Crowe was a fantastic tutor and the day whizzed past. I'm itching to do it again ๐Ÿ˜Š FAC have classes for all ages and abilities - even school holiday groups for kids - and they are really reasonably priced - great for gift ideas! FAC is one of the most beautiful, fascinating historical buildings in Perth too. How lovely is this one? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿก On the market with @bastonandco, this 1927 worker's cottage cottage sits in a heritage precinct of East Victoria Park, surrounded by other weatherboard homes. The house was a labour of love for botanical artist and house nerd @lalleuca and her engineer hubby - two creative minds coming together for one huge restoration project! "When we renovated and extended, we let the house lead the way and followed what was already there: brass fittings, ornate cornice work, timber boards," says Tracey. "I love how cohesive it feels."
