How am I supposed to relax without watching Tiktoks of animals who think they are humans? I should have paid more attention when our accommodation’s

They bought it just before the pandemic and then slowly fixed it up through lockdowns and restrictions - with two little kids in tow to boot!

Originally built for workers of Millars Timber and Trading Company, the house is in the tiny south west town of Quinninup. I will admit I had never even heard of Quinninup until Jade bought a property there 🙈 Now? Mr Nerd and I want our own little cottage there 😆 Until then, we'll content ourselves with visiting Jade's.

Tucked beside spectacular karri forest a short stroll to beautiful Karri Lake, this home is quiet, grounding and feels magic. It's one of my favourite cottages - I love the vintage, gathered interiors, it's so comfortable, beautiful and thoughtfully done. This place feels so calming. You arrive here and feel you can let out a breath you didn't even know you were holding. The perfect place for a couples getaway or escape with friends 🍷 Full post on my blog 🖤🏡

Do you ever feel like life is so busy you never ma Do you ever feel like life is so busy you never make time to do something just for you? I feel like that a lot, especially since having kids. But when I DO make the time to learn something new or do something creative, it really lights me up and I think, 'Why don't I do this more often?!' ✨

That's how I felt when @fremantleartscentre asked if I would try out a couple of their classes to help them spread the word. FAC have an awesome learning program of one-day, weekend and term courses - painting, ceramics, crafting, creative writing, basketry and jewellery. I have ALWAYS wanted to try my hand at a pottery wheel so I booked in for 'A Day on the Wheel'. Turns out I am not a natural potter (how unsurprising 😆) but I had SO MUCH fun. Greg Crowe was a fantastic tutor and the day whizzed past. I'm itching to do it again 😊

FAC have classes for all ages and abilities - even school holiday groups for kids - and they are really reasonably priced - great for gift ideas! FAC is one of the most beautiful, fascinating historical buildings in Perth too. All up, totally recommend ⭐

Made in Sweden (from 94% recycled plastic), this small, silent dehumidifier was designed to pull excess moisture from the air while blending into your decor, with their sleek, minimalist Scandi-inspired look and three modern colourways (I like the green). Each refill bag has a whopping 600g of moisture-absorbing crystals and lasts for up to 3 months. I suck at chemistry, but what I do know is the Absodry's calcium chloride crystals pull excess moisture from the air and convert it into water 🤓👩🏽‍🔬 After some time, you simply twist the top, pour out the collected water and it's good to go again! Available from Bunnings, Absodry are great for combatting moisture and mould issues in any rooms (especially humid rooms like bathrooms or laundries) and also reduce unpleasant household odors 💩✨💚 🤓

I have an Absodry prize pack to give to one lucky house nerd. You'll get:

The house was a labour of love for botanical artist and house nerd @lalleuca and her engineer hubby - two creative minds coming together for one huge restoration project! "When we renovated and extended, we let the house lead the way and followed what was already there: brass fittings, ornate cornice work, timber boards," says Tracey. "I love how cohesive it feels."

I love the alfresco area with pressed tin and pizza oven - and kitchen with those incredible Brazilian Arabescato quartzite benchtops! ✨ Even the tiniest details were lovingly planned, like using brass lugs in the custom kitchen cabinets - which have mint green interiors, instead of white 💚

During renos, Tracey uncovered yesteryear mementoes from coins to chip packets and tiny dolls. "Restoring the old stove, we found Grahame stamped into the side, which was epecially poignant because that's my dear departed best dog's name," she says. There is an exceptionally generous lime tree (a housewarming gift) and a family of doves nests in the pomegranate tree each year 🌳🪺

The house is perfect for a couple or young family. "It's a house that would suit people who love beautiful things and a history," says Tracey. If that sounds like you, you can see more at @blue_sky_weatherboard - and here are the home open details!
